Your 2022 Branding Photoshoot
Yes, it’s 2022!
Like all things, those that are well planned cause the least amount of stress and typically have fantastic well-intended results. Let “winging it” be something of your past.
Photoshoots can be a little like that. From the outside looking in, it can seem that all of a sudden there’s a beautiful set of photos, but many don’t consider all that goes into them. Sure, the photoshoot typically happens in a day, but it takes a lot of planning, questions, and preparation to do so. The entire project of ‘branding photos’ can sometimes take a month or more to pull off. As the photographer I don’t simply show up to a great location and take your photo. I work with you on the creative process and the logistics needed to pull the whole thing off.
Consider all that went into Copywriter, Britt Bates’ Photoshoot.
We met to discuss her goals and needs. I needed to understand how the photos would be used, and what her dream outcome was.
The mood board, the tone, and the ‘feel’ of the photoshoot had to be developed.
The dream shot list was created.
The locations are scouted, and secured. If permits or fees are required it’s all dealt with ahead of time.
Wardrobe, hair, makeup, and props are all purchased, gathered, and camera ready.
The photoshoot is then a day long event (approx 4+ hours) of creativity and movement from one location to the next (and it’s pretty freaking fun).
Post production, then involves selection, editing, and gallery creation.
If you’re the kind of person that likes to show up at the airport, buy a ticket and then just see where the wind takes you, then this is NOT your process. However, if you prefer being more prepared and this is something you’re wanting for your business, then it would be wise to start this process early.
Branding photo sessions don’t happen by accident and they can be one of the most useful tools you have in marketing your business online. The best sessions start the planning process early. My most popular time of the year for branding photos is coming up soon.
If you’d like to a commit to a branding photoshoot this spring or summer… I would love to help. Please reach out and let’s see what we can create.
